A scholarship is awarded to a St. Tammany parish resident who will be a rising college junior majoring in the field of horticulture or related disciplines. Scholarship is valued at $500.00. Club Project since 1974. Chairperson, Kyle Martin

Covington Garden Club and its members support NGC Member Services by purchasing National Garden Clubs, Inc.’s “Vision of Beauty” calendars; purchase of president and past president pins; purchase of Handbook For Flower Shows, Revised 2017-2nd Edition and flower show ribbons. Chairperson, Suzi Roux
CGC sponsors the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc.’s “Zelda Rose Education Exhibit Award”, LGCF Award #27, each year with a donation of $50.00. Chairperson, Snoann Willett
We invite guests/visitors to many of our special events, such as our Christmas Tea, Flower Show and Luncheon/Style Show. Our community outreach this year will again be the Northshore Food Bank (NFB). The NFB serves more than 375 individuals and families each week in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes. The food bank serves the needs of the most vulnerable in our community by providing food, clothing, and dental care. We plan a large food drive in the Spring. In addition to our members’ contributions, Covington Garden Club’s monetary donation to the Northshore Food Bank is $100 per year. Chairpersons, CGC Board Members
CGC will be collecting donations for the St. Francis Animal Sanctuary located at 813 Florida St, Mandeville, LA 70448. They are a no-kill center that conducts rescues and community outreach and is supported by private donations. Chairperson, Connie Moore
CGC pays $95.00 for a club member to attend Flower Show School. Interested members submit a written request to the President for consideration by the board. The purpose is to increase Flower Show judges within the club. Chairpersons, CGC Board Members
The Healing Garden: The Healing Garden, established in 2000, is located at 100 N. Columbia St, Covington, LA, also known as the Columbia Street Landing, in downtown Covington. We will continue maintaining by keeping it weed-free and the trees and bushes trimmed and pruned. It is the site of outdoor concerts, weddings, and many photography shoots, among other things. We were awarded the 2022 Landscape Design project grant to add flowers for a colorful summer. Chairperson, Dawne Pflughoeft
Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker: The Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker is located at 19375 LA Hwy 36, Covington, LA, the intersections of Hwy 21 and Hwy 36, in front of the St. Tammany Fire District No. 12 fire station. The Covington Garden Club sponsored and dedicated this marker May 2011. We will continue to maintain the garden of giant liriope installed in 2018 by keeping it weed-free, mulched, and decorated for Memorial Day. Chairperson, Lynn DiVincent
Triangle Park: Triangle Park is located at 419 N. New Hampshire St, Covington, Louisiana, also known as the St. Tammany Trace Covington Trailhead in downtown Covington at the corners of New Hampshire and East Lockwood Streets. We plan to refurbish some of the plants and control vines that have overgrown the gardens in some areas. It is the site of outdoor concerts, art exhibits, and antique shows. Chairperson, Kyle Martin
